Even in winter, the Tuscan Archipelago National Park offers opportunities to enjoy its territory with activities inspired by history, food and wine, and sustainability, with an interesting calendar of events that will also accompany us during the Christmas holidays on the islands of Elba and Pianosa. Below is the programme:
Elba Island. Portoferraio in the structure of Forte Inglese
- On the days of 3 and 24 December and 7 January, accompanied by the Park Guide, it will be possible to take a guided tour of Forte Inglese, historical defensive structure from the 18th century, which stands on the San Rocco hill from where one can enjoy a panoramic view of Cosmopoli. Also included in the tour is the interesting photographic exhibition entitled "Giorgio Roster's Elba. The transformation of the landscape between the 19th and 20th centuries in the photographs of the scientist photographer' - ticket € 4

– 10 December a workshop will be held to make ecological Christmas festoons from evergreen shrubs to decorate our homes in a sustainable way for the coming festive season - ticket € 8
Appointment at 3.30 p.m. at Forte Inglese - reservation required
– 17 December a meeting with tasting will be held to discover the beers of the Archipelago together with the brewers of the Island of Elba, who will accompany us in the tasting, explaining how these beverages are created and how they can reflect, in their different flavours, the characters of our islands - ticket € 8

- Volterraio Fortress
Visits to the Volterraio Fortress are always possible even in winter, weather permitting.
Reaching the summit on your own along path no. 255/A, you will find the Park Guide waiting for you at the Fortress from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a guided tour. - ticket € 8 and reductions.
The dates indicated are 10, 18, 26, 31 December - 2, 7, 29 January. It is recommended that you call to confirm the progress of the guided tour.
- Island of Pianosa
It is also possible to visit Pianosa in winter. Just contact the Aquavision shipping company (0565 976022) to find out the dates when the maritime connection is active. A Park Guide is available on board, with whom you can book various activities to be paid for on site: trekking, mountain biking, a tour of the village with catacombs, the Science Museum and the Agronomist's House.
